Starting 2023, I resolve that before/instead of doomscrolling news, I will ask

‘Have these predictions changed significantly, and if so why?’

Current Metaculus community predicted snap shot as of Dec. 31, 2022:

  1. AGI arrival date = 2038
  2. Pr Significant US-China conflict by 2050 = 46%
  3. Pr Nuclear detonation in war by 2050 = 33%
  4. Pr Third World War by 2050 = 20%
  5. Pr Alien technosignatures by 2050.= 5%
  6. Gross World Product in 2047 = 254T
  7. World Population in 2050 = ~9.5B
  8. Pr >10% Global Population Decline by 2100 = 35%

    There will always be wars and rumors of wars written before me. . predictions & doomsday exists because circumstances are out of control.. population, government, finance, technology, trust. However, there is still good in the world and the human experience is the balance in finding it and deciding not to focus on doomsday. I think every generation has had its on doomsday.
